-What is MLD?

Using sequences of gentle massage strokes, MLD helps to stimulate the flow of fluid through the lymphatic system, which can produce a feeling of instant relief from the very first session.

-How many post op sessions do I need ?

You should get between 3-6 MLD sessions during the first week beginning the very next day after surgery (unless your doctor advises otherwise). Just remember everyone responds differently to surgery and some will need less and some will need more. On the average we recommend 6-12 MLD sessions after surgery.

-How long is the MLD sessions?

Each session will last 30 minutes but in some cases it could be less or more. This will depend on the individual’s pain level or some other medical condition that could be counterproductive to your healing.

-How soon should I start MLD after surgery?

Unless your doctor advises you otherwise, we recommend you start MLD the next day.

-Do I need MLD after a tummy tuck procedure?

Yes, MLD is essential after a tummy tuck. Some of the benefits are a reduction in swelling, diminished bruising, increase circulation and relaxing your back area. Lymphatic massage stimulates the immune system which will improve your overall health and increase your healing rate.
